Auto attacks cancel during death.

I'm unsure if this was suppost to be like this but it's happened to me over five times in ranked were I would auto attack and while the auto is in the enemy champions face i will die (from gank or any other reason) and the auto disappears. This has hendered me and caused a lot of games to go in the favor of the other team. This has primarly happened using jinx's Q active.
