Freezing mid game since Patch 9.1 HELP!

I recently purchased a pretty high end computer with Windows 10 already installed. I only play League of Legends, nothing else. The specs are Intel Core i7 3.70 GHz, 16gb RAM, GTX1070ti 8gb graphics card, 64 bit. This thing is smooth.

About a month ago the game was working perfectly, as expected. Until about patch 9.1 when the client would just freeze right in the middle of a match. It would give a little Windows "error" sound, kind of like chimes, then completely freeze. I can still move my mouse but my character is completely frozen. I can't ALT+TAB out, I can't even run Task Manager to end the client and restart. The only fix that I have found for this is to sign out of Windows entirely, then restart the game. Of course, my champion has died at this point and as minutes go by trying to get back into the game, and as a team we are extraordinarily behind. You can imagine my frustration here, with a brand new PC and not being able to play the game.

The real issue in trying to figure this out, is there are no error messages that come with this crash. It will just randomly freeze mid game. It seems to happen more frequently in Aram matches.

Steps I have tried thus far: Hextech repair tool, resetting router at home, reinstalling League of Legends, making sure all of my drivers are up to date on the graphics card and other hardware, researching tirelessly on Google for any fix to this.

Has anyone else been experiencing these random freezes? My hunch is that it is Windows related, and some sort of firewall issue because of the sound I hear when the freeze occurs.

Any input would be appreciated! I have been trying to fix this for weeks.

Same problem here. Only league freezes randomly into the game while other apps are running in the background without a problem (I had chrome open with music on, it was still running and when i alt+tab i can see the video playing even). It already happened 3 games in a row. Thank god It doesnt take too long to restart my PC otherwise frustration would be understatement.

Got the same problem. Talked with League Support for the past week and they tell me it's cause of the temperature of my computer. Like this computer is brand new and has 8 fans on it. This seems like a League issue itself. This is something on their end and it needs to me fixed.

Same thing happens to me every single game. I thought maybe my computer was overheating since the fan was accidentally covered, but that isn’t the issue. I’m just so tired of getting cue wait times for something I can not control.

I am also having freezing issues in game all of a sudden. It is related to something running in windows background that is conflicting with League I think, although I cannot determine what. Very annoying and sometimes will do it more than once in a single game.

My freeze issues do not allow my mouse to move and locks up my computer for a good 30 seconds it seems. Like others though, background apps seem to be running fine, and for me it only recently started... maybe in the last week or two.

Same thing here... especially in ARAM. Oddly...It's always a game with Miss fortune in it that causes the issue. Regardless of side... she bugs the game. Riot... of course no help.. 12 support tickets later
