Freezing mid game since Patch 9.1 HELP!
I recently purchased a pretty high end computer with Windows 10 already installed. I only play League of Legends, nothing else. The specs are Intel Core i7 3.70 GHz, 16gb RAM, GTX1070ti 8gb graphics card, 64 bit. This thing is smooth.
About a month ago the game was working perfectly, as expected. Until about patch 9.1 when the client would just freeze right in the middle of a match. It would give a little Windows "error" sound, kind of like chimes, then completely freeze. I can still move my mouse but my character is completely frozen. I can't ALT+TAB out, I can't even run Task Manager to end the client and restart. The only fix that I have found for this is to sign out of Windows entirely, then restart the game. Of course, my champion has died at this point and as minutes go by trying to get back into the game, and as a team we are extraordinarily behind. You can imagine my frustration here, with a brand new PC and not being able to play the game.
The real issue in trying to figure this out, is there are no error messages that come with this crash. It will just randomly freeze mid game. It seems to happen more frequently in Aram matches.
Steps I have tried thus far: Hextech repair tool, resetting router at home, reinstalling League of Legends, making sure all of my drivers are up to date on the graphics card and other hardware, researching tirelessly on Google for any fix to this.
Has anyone else been experiencing these random freezes? My hunch is that it is Windows related, and some sort of firewall issue because of the sound I hear when the freeze occurs.
Any input would be appreciated! I have been trying to fix this for weeks.
