Kalista Rend Bug

When playing Kalista sometimes I'm unable to cast Rend. It isn't on cooldown and I'm not out of range when I'm attempting to cast it but the ability is grayed out. My support has said a few times before that they didn't see any of the spears on the target I was trying to use Rend on, but I could see them on my end.
