[GAMEPLAY],[CLIENT] Pressing caps in game sometimes causes various odd side effects.
On various occasions, I have accidentally press the caps lock key while playing a game of league and have discovered that more often than not (at least for me) something very strange happens. I've considered that maybe this is a problem specific to my computer for some reason, but my caps lock key behaves normally doing anything else and in any other application on my computer. Since it doesn't always happen, I can't give a set of steps that reproduces the issue: only that things happen when I accidentally press caps lock.
Some of the more common side effects to pressing caps lock are:
-
The game losing focus. This is essentially the equivalent to pressing the alt tab key, except if there are other applications open the one that gains focus is completely random as opposed to being the application that had focus most recently before league.
-
Closing the client. Similar to number one, except the game client completely closes disconnecting you from your game.
-
Crashing the client. This is probably the rarest on this list, but I have had the client completely crash to the point that I was asked to fill out a crash report and everything. At the time, I hadn't yet connected the dots between the caps lock key and the problems I'd been having, so my crash report wasn't very informative.
-
Disabling key board shortcuts for abilities. This is the most bizarre thing I've had happen to me. You can't cast any of your abilities using your key board. Clicking on them with your mouse still works; and you can still type in chat; but no pressing R to cast your ult or F to flash for you (making playing more difficult). The effect last until you press caps lock again risking something else happening though with this one things do normally just return to normal.
-
Causing everything typed in chat to be in all caps. Before you tell me this is what caps lock is supposed to do, normally you can press the shift key and still get a lower case letter. Here, I'm referring to cases were it's almost like lower case letters don't exist for you unless you press the caps lock key again.
And that's it. I'm sorry that I couldn't figure out how to consistently recreate it, but I've told you everything I know. I just find this bug a little... weird, and since there's a team currently working on a new client I'd understand if fixing this wasn't prioritized. Just please tell this won't happen on the new client when it's released for everyone.
