Tristana's Rocket Jump Disjoints Yuumi W

During a Summoner's Rift (Draft, Arcade) game, while playing as Yuumi, I tried to use my W to attach to a friendly Tristana. As I was doing so,(the attach animation was playing and my champion moved closer) they Rocket Jumped away. This caused me to randomly eject from their point of origin without apparently fully attaching, as if the ability were disjointed (and die shortly thereafter to the enemy team). Will post vid if I can get it uploaded.
