Blue Essence being spent without buying anything.

I recently got a champ shard that I wanted to turn into a champ permanent. The cost was 675 blue essence which was not a big deal because I had about 1,575 blue essence. When I clicked upgrade I got the champ permanent but now I only have 195 blue essence. I'm pretty sure this is a glitch because ive been saving up the blue essence for a while to get a few champs lvl 7.
