Illaoi Tentacles removed in the shadow realm (Morde ult)

Whenever Mordekasier ults an Illaoi, all of her tentacles on the map are unavailable to her in the shadow realm. Is this an intended mechanic or a bug?

Intentional, the only thing that goes into the shadow realm is you and him

Shadow realm is a second map essentially. Illaoi spawns them but that's it, they're not part of her like an aura
