Spectator mode Directed Camera

I've tried several spectator mode matches to watch my friends and the directed camera is not working. I have reset the settings to default, tried every hotkey known to man, it just wont turn on for some reason. The camera icon in the bottom left that changes based on manual camera and directed still changes when i click it (as if it were in directed mode), but it does nothing. If I click on champions or use the hot keys that would normally move my screen to that champion, their picture, skills, standard window will show in the bottom left like usual, however the camera does not move to them. Hope someone can find the solution. Thanks!
