client chat bug

So, i did a full repair of the client, restarted my pc, opened and closed the client multiple times but still.. the bug exists. Basically, when I open the chat window, I am stuck on it forever. I cannot minimize it and it is stuck on a chat window with one friend, which means i literally cannot talk to any other friends as even clicking on them will not transfer to that chat. I can type but am not able to see my text being sent or the texts sent to me by my friends. Also, because this stupid window blocks the "play" or queue button, I cannot play league once the chat is open. Why do bugs like these exist when the new client has been released for a long time? Why retire the legacy client when the new client still has some issues? This is so aggravating.
