[Client] Item Sets Disappearing

Hi all,

This will be my first discussion post. I'm posting here today, because unfortunately, after an uninstallation and reinstallation, I found that while my runes and masteries saved to my account had returned, my item sets and some chat settings had not. Not only that, but when I exited after logging in after reinstalling League, and then logged on again a few hours later, I noticed that the item sets had disappeared once again. (And before anyone asks, yes, I DID click the save button before leaving the tab). I have no problem with re-creating those item sets, but I just wanted to know if anyone else was having this problem and if there were any solutions presently that can help.

I apologize in advance if I happen to have posted this in the wrong forum, but this was as close as I could get to my problem's nature.

Just FYI

Item sets are stored locally onto your cpu under Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0.1.140\deploy\preferences

They have yet to make it so the item sets are stored on servers

If that's the case, that'll explain the reinstallation, but when I got back out of a game after editing item sets after reinstallation, they weren't there.

Thanks for the information, though, I didn't know that.

Another thing, if you have to repair your client, that'll also remove your item sets so before doing so, get your item set file and store a copy somewhere else on your cpu

I have noticed that i had the same thing occur to me. Shortly after the latest update was installed (don't know if the update has anything to do with it), I played a game and noticed my item sets were not appearing. After the match I checked and saw that not one, but ALL my sets were gone. Not that i have had these sets and used them without them dissappearing for over 5 months.

After noticing the option to have item sets, I've sort of grown accustomed to using them, so not having them will be a little uncomfortable, but I think I'll survive. As for whether it's the new patch or not, it is certainly possible.

And that is the same exact thing that happened to me. I went to a forum online before posting this, that said that the item sets that did not have champion or map restrictions WERE still saved. However, I'm the kind of person who likes to be organized, so I don't think I will not set restrictions on the sets I use. That forum was back in 2013, though, so I was unsure of how applicable it would be presently. Hope we can find some sort of resolution to this.

Yes. I have grown accustomed to them as you have. For approx. 8 games, I have had to go with my gut and sometimes when desperate look on MOBAFire. I have already starting to remake the sets but I do wish very much that this would be fixed

I don't even know if I want to remake them at this point if they keep disappearing. But best of luck to you in game, man! :)

That happened to me about half a year ago when I was about your level. It hasn't happened to me since, so it may have something to do with leveling up. It's a weird bug, though.

I guess, although it seems to happen frequently enough that I think Riot should look into it. The good news is that (fingers crossed), it hasn't happened to me again. If it happened now I would be really upset because I've gotten good with more champions, so I have more item sets that I would lose.

Well just in case, I've saved all my item sets and backed up the folder they're found in so that if I do lose them again, I can quickly restore them.

Seems everything has resolved itself, although I'm not sure how. All I did was back up the files as I saved the item sets I recreated. Now, they don't get deleted from my account, and I've played several games and closed the client a few times between then and now.
