Try running league as administrator, this worked instantly for me. You can do this by right clicking the league of legends icon and clicking on "run as administrator", good luck!
DONT run as admin let me tell you why
I did this so caled "fix and as soon as got in game I spiked from 24% cpu to over 99% cpu, running admin is like givin permission to dogs to run all across your furniture and your unlocking your gpu, and cpu ful potential with no restrictions, be wary I lost 3 freaking computers because of this game, at the end of the day you have to decide if it's worth it.
Run it normal, w/o admin rights and wait for Riot to grow some tact an actually fix the problems. btw 1,475 computers were most likely harmed in making this statement from League updates.
I logged in just to upvote this solution and to thank you. I am fresh installing league onto my Surface Pro3 with windows 10. Kept getting this error. Ran as administrator and voila! Worked right away. I was seriously over thinking this and messing with c++ redistribute files etc. lol...Simple solutions always get me and you are a genius.
Like an idiot i uninstalled and re-installed before even thinking of this. >.< but it worked for me.. now to just wait for everything to re-install -.-

you can right click on the LOL then go to ( properties >> Compatibility >> check on run this program as an administrator ) so u don't have to do what u said every time
I've tried opening it as adminstartor i still get the same problem ive watched so much youtube videos and even contacted riot but they havent been replying for 2days now... I've changed my DNS like how riot wants to but still i get the error please help :/

I have Windows 8 and i had the same problem some minutes ago, instead of uninstalling and installing the game again i instanly went on the internet becouse you all know how much time requires lol to be reinstalled.. and your solution worked instantly! thank you so much! unfortunately this is a terrible work around, as they should have the services and game be able to run from a non elevated user, I do wish they would fix this

Right-click the League of Legends Shortcut, Click Properties then click the "Shortcut" Tab. On the "Target" box, change the destination "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\lol.launcher.exe" to "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\lol.launcher.admin.exe". That should fix it.
