[CLIENT] my client is in an infinite loop of opening and then closing again

I've just opened my client and suddenly pops up a notification saying that the client needs to be patched to a new version so I click "okay" and the client closes. Then it opens, I see the login screen, and the same thing pops up again. So now my client is opening and closing in an infinite loop. please help me :(((
