Ornn passive and ultimate bug

I just played a game as Ornn in which his ultimate was completely invisible until i recast the r and hit the ram at which point it appeared to have come from thin air and struck out. On top of this, my teammates reported not being able to upgrade to the forge items until i hit level 12 or 13 i cant remember. in short terms, they couldnt upgrade their items until i had either bought my upgraded item or until i hit a certain level i couldnt tell which it was although id assume the first one. Any thoughts?
