Tahm Kench cannot eat Xerath

I just played a game in which as a tahm kench player, I could consume all players on my team except xerath. He seemed unaffected by the ability cast and tahm does nothing when you use the ability on him. I would post a video of the bug and try and reproduce it, but I can't select xerath as a bot in a custom game.
