Sometime ago in was playing Zilean in an aram match, I decided just for fun I'd use my ult on my self and walk into fountain turret. I expected to revive and walk out, probably taking a fountain shot after revival, instead what I witnessed is Zilean's ult didn't proc after dying to fountain turret. Not sure if this is a bug or if it was intended.
It's intended. They changed how revives work in the spawn fountain a season or two ago, because tryndamere could just walk into that, ult, and kill the entire enemy team.
Over the years, Riot has changed the fountain turret to make it more OP. As of right now, the fountain turret ignores everything. It ignores any resistances, damage reductions, and even invulnerability from Kayle's ult or Poppy's ult. It also ignores revives like Zilean's ult, GA, or Anivia's passive so they don't activate when it kills you.
