Skin/Champion Disabling

TFW Mecha Zero Scion is disabled for causing in-game bugs, but Aurelion Sol is still playable with several reports of stars going invisible. Now, I don't play either champion, but is there really a reason why they would go out of their way to disable a skin for a champion, while simultaneously not disable a champion that's having reoccurring issues as a whole, skin or no?
