game opening in windowed mode first game

i have the issue where when my fist game of the day that my game opens in windowed mode over my preferred boarder less full screen. i have tried to mess with it with nvidea settings. i have uninstalled and re installed also. any tips for me. :) (also this has been happening for about a month now.
