game crashing in champ select?

Greetings, today I had my client crash on me three times in champ select which resulted in me getting a 30min ban. This is the only game that has issues on my computer and I run an average of 3 other games every day none of which have issues. As league is probably the simplest game of them all, I wonder why they have so much trouble making a stable client. Has anyone else noticed the client crashing on them recently?
