Bug in champ select

I was in normal blind pick for summoner's rift when I heard the sound that indicated that a match was found. I went to look at the client window and it was completely black. I waited for about 20 seconds, but no UI appeared. and then clicked the window close button. It said 'Are you sure you want to quit, you and your team will receive a time penalty" but said yes and exited the client. I reentered the client, and had to wait five minutes before I could play.
