Shaw WiFi user experiencing Ping spikes every few seconds ingame

Hey people. I am an unfortunate victim of ping spikes. Recently, I have redownloaded the game because I wanted to play with some of my friends who were new to League. I was more than surprised when I joined a game and ping spikes started to trouble me. The ping would be as low as 60, but after a short while it would rise to 200 and fluctuate between these two numbers in time intervals of 3 seconds or so. I was curious so I decided to ask my friends who were using Shaw WiFi on their experiences at League and they have been telling me the same thing. I have tried a lot of things like using a ping reducer programme or moving my laptop real close to my home router but none of the above worked. Just wondering if any of you have the same problem that I do, and more specifically, with a Shaw network, and if you have, how you resolved this troublesome issue. Thanks and have a nice day!
