Game freezes, but other people can see my chat despite it announcing that I disconnected.

So here is the summary of what happened:

I was doing ranked 5v5s with a couple of friends as Graves (adc) and i remember out of nowhere i just couldn't move. Then i noticed that other people stayed in place, or walked continuously in the same direction. Before you ask, my internet was definitely working because the Skype call with my friends was never dropped. This normally wouldn't upset me, since it was a casual ranked (if that's possible), but while the (in game) chat did not update for me, anything I typed and entered, my team could see. They also said that they could see the "3PICK1LL has disconnected" announcement, and despite that, could still read my chats.

Here is a list of things I tried, but ultimately didn't help.

• I waited for about a minute hoping that it would fix itself, did not happen.
• I exited the game and immediately reconnected, where the problem would be fixed for a random amount of time. (sometimes it lets me continue for about 3 minutes, and other times it disconnects me the second i reconnect)
• I then restarted my client completely, used task manager to shut it down, and logged back in. Same problem persisted.

After it disconnected me about 6-7 times, whenever i tried to reconnect, it showed a black screen, and I simply could not reconnect. (I know for a fact that the game hadn't ended yet because my friends told me when they started the surrender vote)

As far as I know, this only happened this one game, only to me, and my client doesn't have any mods. Not sure if this has any relation to the topic, but my area was near a large storm and it blew out the power 2 hours before this game. It only lasted a couple minutes before the electricity came back. And also the storm wasn't as severe during this game.

EDIT: I didn't have fraps loaded during the time and I was more worried about getting back into the game at the time. Screenshots won't explain this and I unfortunately don't have a video.
