Lock in didn't take during champ select

I locked in, the button grayed out and the count down went on, I could still switch champs but locking in again never re became an option. The count down expired like I afk'ed the selection.... It did not cause the game to fail and close, but it did draw a dodge penalty, that I don't feel like I earned and shouldn't stick to my account. Ranked flex qeue btw, so thanks for that free LP loss Rito.
