I didn't get my free champion, I was given a skin instead...

So I logged into league today, and was given a mystery gift from Riot. It gave me Viking Tryndamere while telling me I already owned all the champions. But I do not own all the champions. There are several champions I don't own. I was looking forward to getting a new champ, but I now I feel cheated.. Can they fix this? Or am I alone here?

you get a skin if you own 116 champs or more (so like if there only 10 champs you don't own you get a skin)

Because the free champion was given as a gift, standard gifting rules apply. This means that in order to get the free champion, you need to own at 10+ champions that are above 520 RP in cost at the time the gift is sent (this means that if a champion is on sale, it won't count because it will cost less than 520 RP). If you didn't meet those requirements, you get a free skin instead.
