[GAMEPLAY] Path Finder bug; get last location of teleported enemy champions.
Issues
Auto-attacking (Right clicking) enemy champions allows you to gain information about that enemy's location using the Path Finder, if the enemy:
- Flashes
- Teleports
- Uses a teleport-like ability; like Twisted Fate's Gate ability
This issue happens 100% of the time and will happen even if the area has Fog of War.
Description
This is a possible bug with the Path Finding code for League of Legends.
I'm not entirely sure if this is intended, however, this possible bug could give an unintended advantage in certain situations.
Basically, right clicking on an enemy champion who is teleporting away will leave give you a path on the map that, when followed, leads to the location that the enemy teleported to. This will NOT follow the enemy champion, it will go to the target's teleported location.
This will work regardless of whether or not you are near the enemy champion.
Repro
- Choose a champion and grab the Teleport summoner spell. Or use a champion who has a teleporting ability, such as Twisted Fate.
- Have someone auto attack you (Have them right click you, they do not have to be near you); make sure after the person is auto attacking he/she does not use the keyboard or mouse.
- Teleport anywhere and watch as your frienemy follows you to your location no matter how far you go.
Video Example
This video uses Twisted Fate's ultimate "Gate" as an example.
My thoughts on this
In situations such as when players use champions like Twisted Fate and are under attack by an ADC then choose to last second Gate away, then start going B without moving from the teleported location, this could be a problem. Especially since it's easy to pull of considering the cast-time for teleport spells. This also could give some information to the team that might be impossible to get.
I knew about this issue for quite some time now, but completely forgot to report it. I first found it some time around last year and it's still working today.
Finally, I apologize for my ignorance if this is actually intended, and will keep this trick in mind for future games.
