when you smite large jungle monsters it sometimes doesnt give you back health so if you dont smite early then you might end up gettting exicuted

The only time smiting a large jungle monster will give you any health is if you smite red buff (because that is red buff's smite bonus) or if you have the Trailblazer jungle item (purple smite). Otherwise, smiting a large jungle monster will not give you any health back.
