Master Yi's Alpha Strike Freezes Jungle Camps

When playing Master Yi in the jungle, one of the best things to do is alpha strike a monster to dodge damage early, right? Well, lately I have noticed that when you do this to try to dodge an attack, they will seem to freeze and not move, but the game still sees them dealing damage. Moving away from them will allow them to move and chase you, but this is not good when you attempt to move around them and do not know when they attack. This has only been noticed when only the large monster remains. Thank you for your time.
