Significant FPS Drops While Google Chrome is Open in Background
EDIT: ** Just played two games of league and never open Google Chrome. Problem started in the second game, noticed FPS dropping to 45FPS by the time laning phase started. Was resolved by closing out of league and reloading into the game at 5 mins.**
I'm running Ryzen 5 2600x, 2070 RTX, 16Gb RAM 3200 Mhz. I have two monitors running and usually Discord and Spotify in the background. Per-usual Mid-High end set up with casual things running in background. Uncapped normally I can run league at ~300 fps. But I play capped at 144 fps, because it shouldn't matter. My problem starts in fountain. I'll load into a game and notice my fps is at ~100 in fountain. From here I know it is going to get worse, as the game goes on it seems to only get worse. Roughly 25 mins into a game yesterday I hit 29 FPS...like wtf....? But the game before that I ran the whole game at 144FPS with literally zero stuttering. So, I restarted my machine, and boom. Back to 144FPS for the next few games. Then it did it again. Just tanking FPS once a new game started that I loaded in lower than 144FPS. I have been transiently noticing this problem over the last couple months and could not put my finger on it until this morning. Some times when I am loading into a game of league, on my second monitor, I will OP.GG my team in Google Chrome to check out the teams. I also like checking my own stats after a few games into the day. I have not tested it yet, but I'm pretty sure my (significant) frame drops (Uncapped 270 FPS drop) is from running Google Chrome and league at the same time. I believe, non-coincidentally, this also correlates to how slow and buggy champ select can be as well. As in, when champ select goes well and seamlessly, I run consistent high frames. When champ select seems buggy and takes me 5 seconds to select a champ, I load in with poor frames dropping to near unplayable.
