Can't lock champion in champion select?!?!?! [CLIENT]

Been playing since alpha and really love the game, only real complaint I have is this (insert expletive here) client not allowing me to lock champion and kicking me. This is something that happens to me probably 1 in 50 games. For instance today, I get to champ select, everything's ready to go before I even have to lock in. It gets to my turn, time to lock. NOPE. Lock button stays un-illuminated like I clicked it but I get message saying I failed to select champion. Stupid wait timer.

As I've been playing since 2009 I've had this happen quite a few times and have even been temporarily banned because of it. At this point I'm afraid that my account will get another ban, maybe a permanent one. If this happens I'm sure I could submit a ticket and try to have you guys fix it, but that is some garbage excuse I made up for you! :D

@RIOT will you ever fix this? I've lost countless LP to this bug and doing a quick google search tells me I'm not the only one experiencing this. Expecting your unhelpful response in a few weeks!
