Game Crashing and losing LP

I recently joined a Ranked game and went into champ select. When it was my turn to ban, the entire screen changed. it said "##type" at the top, and even more code at the bottom. Everyones champion picks went to grey, summoner spells went grey, and even the champion i was about to choose went grey. League eventually just crashed and shutdown and when I restarted the game, i had been given a loss..

I'm thoroughly upset and wanna know why this happened..

Not that I have a solution for the problem but I wanted to join this because it just happened to me in the same type of situation but as I clicked on the ban champ button it froze my game then crashed it once I logged back on it said that I had abandoned the game lost one game of my series and gave me a 6 min cool down timer since apparently this was my fault....
