Can't log in [EUW]

I was logged in and hadn't played for a couple of hours, while having the client up in the background I was invited by a friend and we started a game. However in loading screen I got disconnected and couldn't reconnect, so i restarted the client, however now whenever i try to log in it gets stuck in a non-stop "authenticating..." load. Same happened to my friend, when will you fix this and will I risk getting a penalty for afk?

Same here on EUW. I really hope I get a refund of the LP i lost due to the disconnect. I can watch Netflix and play other games but not league so nothing wrong on my network.

Update: I managed to log in after a while, but still unsure if I want to risk queueing up for games.
