PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working

Anybody else having the issue where it says "pvp.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working"? it was working fine last night. now i cannot even play. is this a problem with the Riot system or is it just mine and my friends computer? we use windows 10 but i don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated
