hextech materials missing?

hey so i had a couple things from that project box thing. they disappeared from my inventory and i didnt even get any essence in return? i had completely forgot about them until i looked at my crafting and i noticed they were gone. since i paid money for these, could i at least get the yi skin shard back? i had enough of those project whatever things to unlock it.
