Didn't lose RP on purchase

So, my and a friend decided to gift each other mystery champs. We both hit send gift at the same time, and I got an error screen that said something along the lines of "gift failed to send". My friend says she got the gift, but my rp didn't go down. I tried relogging and my rp still didn't go down. Maybe this is a dumb thing to report (the only thing i can get out of it is less rp) but I feel like riot would be interested to know about this.
