Does being in a series still award you a win if you return to that same series?

I was previously in silver 2 promotional series to silver 1 and lost, and i thought if i returned to the same promotional series then i gained a win from already being in that series...is that no longer a thing or was it never a thing and i just misunderstood?

I havn't played ranked in last month or 2 but if you were playing your promotionals and lost and got back to the same promotionals you should of been granted 1 free win (this is suppose to happened until gold 1) again I'm not 100% sure if this was changed or not

That was kinda my question, did it get changed and i just didnt notice or is it a bug somehow, thanks for replying m8
