Jhin and Quinn

So I've encountered a Jhin while playing with Quinn. And when i came to gank bot with my ultimate he had some traps in river. And when i stepped on a trap and it threw me out of my ultimate. I've read Quinn's ultimate to make sure and it says that if an enemy champion or tower does damage it will go on cooldown. And i also read Jhin's E and it says that when you walk over it it just triggers it, it doesn't do any damage. And i also checked if he had deathfire touch and he didn't. So is this a bug?
