DirectX Error

So today, when I tried to join a game, I got the following error:

"An unknown DirectX error has occurred and League of Legends cannot start. Please make sure your video card is using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer"

I couldn't get into my game as a result. Is this a me problem or a LoL problem? I'm kinda guessing it's a me problem since windows just updated today...

Windows may have eradicated your graphics driver.

Run the hextech repair tool for LoL. If it continues to occur, do the following:

First, disable windows update for all third party drivers and software. It is a menace: https://www.howtogeek.com/302595/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-updating-hardware-drivers/

Download the current graphics drivers for your GPU from the manufacturer website:

If you have an AMD Radeon dGPU or APU, including Ryzen G: https://www.amd.com/en/support

If you have an Nvidia dGPU: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

If you have an Intel iGPU: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/80939/graphics-drivers.html

Once the installer is downloaded, run DDU to erase the old drivers and clear settings: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Reboot, and install the new drivers.
