Client states unable to login(maybe offline)

Sometimes when click on LoL link, client says "Sorry cannot log you in, you may be offline" or something similar. However, I never even typed my password and attempted to login, if just gave me that red error message, and wouldn't let me type in a password or anything to attempt to login. Had to quit and restart the client a few times to get in.
