Following Malzahar q, ultimate combo, I lost the ability to perform abilities as Katarina

After being silenced and ulted by a Malzahar tank using the snow day skin, in a fight in which I did not die, I lost the ability to back, q, ult, and auto attack as Katarina. I kept the function of the e and w as well as the ability to use actives and summoner spells, however. Someone on my team told me that they had dealt with a similar problem and fixed it by restarting the client. I attempted a complete relog 3 times during the match without any change. I also attempted to change the smartcast status of each ability as well as changing the keys to which those abilites were bound in order to ensure that I was not experiencing a computer techincal problem. I was using the High Command skin and I believe that, at the time of the fight, malzahar only had a rod of ages and used no actives.
