Champion frozen in time

So at one point during a game of Poro King, I got a desktop notification, this minimized league, but usually I can just click back in and keep playing. This time however, the screen was completely black except for the cursor. I used control alt delete to get back to my desktop and clicked back into league and my champ was frozen. Not doing their idle animation, not moving in response to commands, etc... I couldn't even level up abilities or click the minimap. However, I could type messages as normal, and it turns out, I could also ping. When I started pinging, my champ unfroze.
