Chat in Team Builder lobby [Client]

My chat is broken in team builder lobby, after I get into a teambuilt game which is waiting for more players, no words appear in my chat window. I try to type a message but it doesnt send. I pressed enter and clicked the send button and the message doesn't disappear from the text box and nothing appears/changes in the chat box. Weird thing is when I have League minimized, sometimes the League logo bounces up and down (i have a mac) as if I received a message, but when I click back to LoL nothing appears in the chat box.
