Chest Glitch - Contained Nothing

I received a chest for an S rank on Twisted Fate in my last game. Went to open the chest, and it froze during the opening animation. Switched to the home page of the client and went back into the Loot window, no new loot, no chest, no key.

Riot, please fix this. It's happened a few other times now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one it's happened to. I even checked my purchase history to see if the chest had given me a summoner icon, but nope. Just...nothing.

Steps to recreate:

• Have Hextech chest and a ready key to open it
• Open Loot window
• click 'Open' underneath the chest on the right
• when the animation freezes before the chest finishes opening, click to a different window
• return to loot window to find chest, key, and loot mysteriously gone
