I've restarted the client multiple times now and logged in and out, but like the title says, my friend's list does not exist. I can't play with my friends because of this problem.
EDIT: Client has been fixed for me, thankfully.
My friend managed to fix it by: Signing-out of Riot Client Deleting the Riot Client folder Launching the League .exe and logging-in thru that (not the Riot Client - the old login screen)
But thank God the store still works for those new skins.
This client is trash worst client ive ever played LoL on. It's upsetting AF when URF is out and you want to do 5 man groups and this FL bug comes up..

Social Panel Problems

We are aware of the current issue with the Social Panel not appearing in client. We are working on the issue and should have it resolved shortly.
Platforms affected: Windows, macOS
Yeah. It works fine on the PBE, but on the NA server this bug stinks. Also, when you're getting into the game it freezes at the last tick and also sometimes says "you're in position 1 of queue, estimated time: 1 min." The two might be related?
Rito fixed it for me. They told me to just sync my clock into my computer, and now it works. Try it out guys and let me know if it fixed.
Yep. Tried to repatch, reboot, restart - nothing. Good thing they are going to improve the client this year :P
FINALLY FOUND THE FIX TO THIS! Been having the issue for 3 days now. Just Sync your guy's time on your computers that you're using. Fixed it instantly. Pass the word
Dunno if this was already posted but, my friend had the same issue and deleting the appdata folder didn't help.
I fixed his issues this way:
The RIOT Games folder needs to be like this -> https://imgur.com/VAQ0CeS The folder contents needs to be like this: https://imgur.com/RQqG9c5 and https://imgur.com/UpV3mNz
The first folder is the league of legends normal folder and the second is the folder containing RiotClientServices.exe stuff.
If you don't have exactly the same stuff then it could be the reason you see black.
Now, I ain't no scientist but he didnt have the same stuff I had, but now its fixed by giving him my folder and creating it manually.

I want to add a comment to bring a small amount of additional attention to this issue, I really hope this is fixed so we can get some games in tonight before bed - we look forward to this shit every night after a long day at work :D
I HAVE THE FIX!
Check the C:\Riot Games file path. Out there you should see the "Riot Client" folder. Delete that and try restarting the game. If it gives you an error message, go into the League of Legends folder and run LeagueClient.exe as administrator
This worked for me, but everytime you close and relaunch the game you have to delete that folder. Also the friendslist seems to only populate with a single person. But since they have the full UI over there you can manually send the invites with the + button in the lobby.
Personally, I dont think Riot knows how to fix it, lmao.
Ran repair tool and nothing, i cant even launch practice tool it just puts me in queue forever*[zombie-brand-facepalm]*

Logged out and re entered, Ran the repair, Reinstalled the program and NOTHING WORKS. I have a friend waiting on me who I have no other form of contact with, this is absolutely ridiculous.

how do you launch league .exe?
Mine is absolutely screwed too, what fun this is so far, I can't find the client folder is it titled Riot Client exactly or is it in a subfolder aside from the norm
