Aurelion Sol's Starsurge Problem

tsukuyomi44··1 votes·532 views

So I just played a game in mid lane and had a horrible time against a yasuo player. Each time I would cast Aurelion Sol's Starsurge early, it would not detonate. It was in the critical moments that really annoyed me where I could not detonate it early. This should have been noticed for a while now as I have noticed that it seems like it doesn't allow players to release early if they wanted to at all. Might want to have people become patch testers to see if there are any bugs with any champions and/ or other game play aspects before making people download it. It is very frustrating.

Starsurge detonates once it has reached your ring of stars.

If you have W active (stars out) then you can't stun anyone within that ring. You need to pull back your stars to get a closer Q detonation. <--corrected by Sol main

W inactive (stars in like at start of the game) is the closest you can ever stun someone. Anyone inside that ring is safe from the stun.

That's totally wrong.

Aurelion Sol Q will detonate when his nucleus reaches the outer ring which is where the stars orbit when you press W (you can see the ring when the star is moving).

You can detonate it a bit earlier but not double tap as you do with Anivia stun. It has been like this since day one, there have been several threads asking for it to be double tappable, Riot always answered that this is an intended weakness. If you have to deal with ppl able to close the gap easily (Yasuo, Talon, Ekko, Zed, etc.) you need to learn how to position and how to kite them.

I apologize for being wrong on pulling back the stars. I strokethrough it. Thanks for correcting me.

Next time you play Aurelion, look at the q projectile indicator. Where the circle is at the end of the indicator is where you are first able to reactivate to detonate it early
