Higher ping?

Not sure if it's just me or my familys connection, since we VERY rarely have to deal with ping and conenctivity problems, atleast, for my PC, in the family. But I literally just played Gnar and throughout the game I was having 60 (usual ping) to 90 and sometimes it quickly bursted into 200 and even 300 a couple of times, going away in a couple of seconds and didn't really bother me too much, it just happened randomly throughout the game and I never actually disconnected. HOWEVER, ages ago, a time so long go I can't even remember what my connection was like back then, I was also playing Gnar, and my connection got so bad that I started DCing. I have barely had any ping issues lately and my internet broke down about a week or 2 ago but it fixed itself quickly, so, I may this sound a bit stupid, but I'm wondering if my ping has something to do with the champion specifically? Or maybe it's just server status.
