Loss in series

I was in champ select for ranked and locked in my pick right at 0. I locked it in but then it proceeded to kick me out to the home screen and I was confused. It then put me back in the champ select to lock it in again, and when I locked it in it wouldn't let me and i was the only one still in champ select. This counted as a loss in the series for me. Is it supposed to be like that or is it a bug?
