Endless cycle of restoring to previous version of LoL and patching error, am I the only one?

Pretty much the title, the client is going back and forth from

"There was a problem patching League of Legends. We'll restore a backup version and try updating again after you restart the patcher."

"We have restored this installation to an older version of League of Legends. Now we'll try to patch it up to the latest version."

I'm guessing the client encounters an error during patching, except this has been ongoing for hours. Might just uninstall and reinstall as a last resort. Am I the only one having this happening?

Try a total uninstall of League of Legends with one of these programs:

IOBit - free: http://www.iobit.com/en/index.php
Uninstall Tool - free trial or about $25 for a license: https://www.crystalidea.com/uninstall-tool

If you can afford it, I would recommend getting Uninstall Tool. I have several friends who had problems with the new client, but the problems went away after a clean install with one of the programs above. I also had problems after the migration to the new client. They went away after I used Uninstall Tool :)

This very specific issue you are having was an issue a friend had. She does not have that issue after using IOBit. She did not want to use money on such a program, so she went with the free, albeit ad-infested, option. Please reply directly to this post after you have tried it :)
