After I press "Launch" it closes, and the log in screen never comes up

as i stated in the title, when I open the patcher and press the orange button that says "launch", the log in screen never comes open. I have ran the Hextech Repair Tool twice, reinstalled, and deleted stuff from the RADS folder as many people online have said, all to no avail. Please help!
