Complete reset while ingame

So today I was playing a Solo-Que ranked game, at about the 20min mark my game just froze and it showed "Attempting to reconnect", which isn't that unordinary. So i tried to restart the game, but I wouldn't start at all, I tried that a couple times but i wouldn't even start up the normal launcher. So i reset my PC and tried to start the Launcher again, this time the game started but as soon as the launcher was fully loaded an error message showed up. Telling me that the game files got reset to an older state and have to be updated, that update included 2Gb of repairing the game files. And after all that I could finally reconnect into the game, but I got a penalty for being AFK, I can't really understand why I should get punished for that, Maybe someone had the same experience and knows how to deal with it if it would ever happen again.
