The new ranks arent synched up yet with their proper MMR. They said it will take some time for those things to even out.
Accounts that didn't play ranked last season all start at iron 4 0 lp, regardless of their mmr. You could have been rank 1 challenger in season 7 and go 10-0 in your provisional games and you'll still only be like Iron 1.
