Why is it that when Kalista came out she was 975 RP and now is being offered with the skin for free in a "bundle" for 975 RP? I was excited to buy her right after the servers came up and now I have to pay 2x the price to get the skin? Someone please explain.

Because the discount is only if you buy the both of them together. It's not a flexible bundle so that people don't just buy Kalista with IP and then get the skin at a discount
